New fishery harbour at Dikowita, Sri Lanka

 

The project consists of the design and construction of a new fishery harbour at Dikkowita, North of Colombo, to replace inadequate berthing facilities at various locations. The harbour consists of berthing facilities and the infrastructure and services, required for operating the harbour and handling the fish. The project scope consists of the following elements to be engineered, procured and constructed/ executed by the Contractor:

  • Two breakwaters forming the seaside part of the harbour, quay walls and piers
  • Dredging, construction of a wave-energy dissipation beach, land reclamation and landfill
  • Processing and service buildings, incl. building utilities
  • Infrastructure for the works, roads/pavement with storm water drainage and a small bridge
